Some drivers have never experienced a car accident and some never will. While we certainly hope our Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA customers are among those lucky people, we’d like to make sure you’re prepared either way.

Check State Laws

Before heading out, brush up on your state’s laws regarding accidents. If you’re in a no-fault state the steps following an accident that you need to take could be different. It’s also a good rule of thumb to refrain from admitting fault. Let the insurance companies and authorities do that.

Get to a Safe Place

Accidents rarely occur in places that are safe enough for you to exchange information and assess the damage. If possible, move over to the shoulder or a nearby parking lot, and don’t forget your flashers.

Call 9-1-1

Even if you decide that the damage is minimal, it is a good idea to have a police report to officially document the incident.

Document Everything

Take pictures of your injuries, damage done to the vehicles and the surrounding area. Be sure to get the contact information of all parties involved. Another good idea is to get any information from bystanders that were witness to the event.

Bring Your Vehicle to Fiore VW

Once the dust has settled and you need to get some work done on your banged up vehicle, our service team will be here, ready to go to work. We’ll take all the stress out of the situation and get you back on the road in a car that’s good as new.
