Volkswagen Andretti Team Celebrates Double Victories In Barbados GRC

At the beginning of September, the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team headed to Barbados for a doubleheader GRC race weekend. This weekend proved to be quite a successful one for the team as drivers Tanner Foust and Scott Speed claimed a one-two finish in both races. This now makes it the fourth time that the pair has completed a race weekend with double podium finishes. For both races, Foust claimed first place in his No. 34 Rockstar GRC Beetle and Speed followed right behind him to claim second place in No. 41 Merchant First GRC Beetle.

“What an amazing weekend,” exclaimed Foust after collecting his second win. “We didn’t start out as the quickest car either day, but the Volkswagen Andretti team worked incredibly hard to improve the cars, and it paid off with this awesome pair of wins! If you had told me going into LA that we’d have a legitimate shot at the championship, I would never have believed you. But, here we are, thanks to some great teamwork and perseverance”.

With such an impressive weekend for the team, they have now solidified their first-place standing in the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship as they prepare for the season finale race which will be held in Las Vegas next month.
