As our customers from Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA already know, the New Vehicles at Fiore Volkswagen offer the most convenient and advanced vehicle technologies, like App-Connect and Car Net. Now, Volkswagen has kicked it up a notch, by announcing a partnership with LG Electronics in order to create a “connected, cloud-based car service platform.”

Through this partnership, Volkswagen hopes to achieve three things:

  • Connecting Volkswagen Vehicles to Smart Homes: Volkswagen wants to give drivers the opportunity to monitor their homes from their vehicles. For instance, if you are on your way home from work, you can turn your lights on or adjust your thermostat from your car.
  • Messaging Made Easy: Although there are already ways to enjoy your smartphone while driving, Volkswagen and LG would like to invest in technology that would make this even safer, both in terms of driver distraction and cybersecurity.
  • Infotainment System: The companies will be building a system that supports the features mentioned above and can easily run all of the functions and features.

Keep up with our blog for more information on this exciting partnership!
