While Volkswagen has been focusing on the future, that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten their current lineup! This week at the North American International Auto Show, VW debuted the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, which was designed for the needs of American customers. The all-new Tiguan is just as fun to drive as ever, but adds a more spacious interior with flexible seating, plus more safety and convenience technology.

The new Tiguan will be built on Volkswagen’s Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform, which allows for a wider and lower stance. With 10.7 extra inches, it offers more interior space and up to 57 percent more cargo space! Plus, it is 4.4 inches wider, which means it can fit an optional third row and sliding second-row seats. Additional features include LED Lighting, optional Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Display, available Volkswagen Car-Net® System with compatible smartphone integration, and available Fender® Premium Audio System. The 2018 Tiguan will also offer the latest in safety technologies including a standard Rearview Camera plus available Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, and Lane Departure Warning.

“The new Tiguan demonstrates how we plan to give American customers the usability and versatility they demand without sacrificing style or Volkswagen’s trademark driving dynamics,“ said Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of the North American Region, Volkswagen. “Every detail of the Tiguan has been thoughtfully engineered for our U.S. customers to maximize space and convenience, while retaining its performance, agility, and value. We plan to price Tiguan very competitively with other compact SUVs. With the brand-new Tiguan and the all-new Atlas, 2017 is the year of #SUVW.”
