2016 Volkswagen Passat Named Best Midsize Sedan

The results for Cars.com’s Midsize Sedan Challenge are in and both car experts and everyday shoppers have spoken: the 2016 Volkswagen Passat is the best midsize sedan on the road this year. To be eligible for the challenge, vehicles had to have an MSRP under $28,000, an EPA estimated mpg of at least 28 mpg, and an automatic transmission. Qualifying vehicles were evaluated based on handling, overall ride, acceleration, braking, cargo space, technology, and features. These categories were rated by expert judges and a couple shopping for a new sedan on a road course that stretched 220 miles. Only ten vehicles made the list, with the Passat coming out on top.
