Volkswagen takes pride in releasing vehicles that are equipped with all of the latest driver assist features and technologies. These features have been designed to not only improve your overall traveling experience but to add even more convenience to help you stay connected and entertained no matter where you are headed. As helpful as these features are, the brand knows that when you first purchase or lease a new vehicle, it can take you a bit to get used to how to navigate through all of this new technology. Therefore, Volkswagen recently released a series of videos on their YouTube page that offers step-by-step instructions on all of their new accessories.
The videos in this series include a mix of generic videos that offer instructions on technologies that are in all new VW models as well as videos that are specific to each new model. You can learn all about the touch screen navigation system and pairing a smartphone with your vehicle in the videos below and check out the full series to learn more.
Highway Safety (IIHS). This is the highest safety rating that the IIHS can presented to any new vehicle following their assessment of every available new vehicle in the market. In order to earn this rating, all four vehicles must first earn a “good” rating in each of the five IIHS crash tests, including the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint. They must then each offer a front crash prevention system that receives an “advanced” or “superior” rating from the IIHS.

Learn All About The 2016 VW Passat On New Page
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat is here at Fiore Volkswagen and now we have released a new Research & Review page to help all of our customers from Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA learn more about the functions and capabilities of this impressive all-new model.
There are six trim level options on the 2016 Volkswagen Passat including the S, SE, SE with Technology, SEK, SEL Premium, and V6 SEL Premium. Depending on which trim level you choose you can opt for either the 170 hp 1.8L Four-Cylinder engine or the 280 hp 3.6L V6 engine.
All trim levels come with standard safety features such as Engine Braking Assist, Intelligent Crash Response System, Electronic Stability Control, and Brake Override System.
Convenience features available depending on the trim level include Climatronic® Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Rearview Camera System, Adaptive Cruise Control, HomeLink® Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, Halogen Fog Lights, Fender® Premium Audio System, Parking Steering Assistance, and more.

2016 Volkswagen Passat App-Connect
The 2016 Volkswagen Passat is now available here at Fiore Volkswagen and we would like to encourage all of our customers from Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA to head over to our dealership and take it out for a test drive. You are sure to be impressed with the sleek design of this vehicle along with its array of standard and available technologies that will make your traveling experiences even better.
In order to highlight a few of these technologies, the brand has released a new series of 30-second advertisements that showcase one of the available or standard features for the 2016 Passat. Each spot offers a humorous look at how each technology can be utilized in a real world situation.

Tips For Safe Driving In Winter
Now that we have entered December, we know that its is only a matter of time before the real winter weather shows up and the roads become filled with ice and snow. With those conditions comes a whole new batch of driving challenges as the weather tends to drastically change the roads that you are generally able to travel over with ease during the warmer months. Therefore, we have a few tips for you below that you should be sure to keep in mind when it comes to winter traveling over the next few months.
- Slow Down – Many of us might think that this would be a rather obvious suggestion, but unfortunately, it is one that needs reminding. No matter how confident you are with your vehicle and driving ability in the winter the ice and snow can still cause problems. Ice will make the road more slippery and the snow will fill up the tread of your tires making traction much more difficult. Therefore, it is generally smart to travel a little below the speed limit to accommodate these changes.
- Avoid Hills – When hills become covered with ice they can be extremely treacherous. An ice-filled hill can have even the best of cars sliding down faster than a bobsled team no matter how hard you brake. Therefore, whenever possible try to avoid hills when they are covered in snow and ice.
- Plan Ahead – As we mentioned previously, when the roads are bad it can affect the traction and general drivability of your vehicle. Therefore, you will not be able to stop or turn as quickly and smoothly as usual. Therefore, make sure to keep an eye out and begin braking early in order to avoid any vehicle swaying and to allow others vehicles to begin braking accordingly.

November Sales Announced By Volkswagen
There may be only one month left in the year, but the award-winning Volkswagen Golf family has once again shown a positive year-over-year increase in sales for the month of November. Overall, the total Golf lineup sold 4,110 units which is 2.9 percent higher than sales from last year. Sales for the entire brand throughout November reached 23,882 units and their year-to-date sales heading into the last month of the year currently stand at 318,484 units.
Sales Highlights:
- e-Golf sales were up 296.6 percent with 472 units
- Golf sales reached 774 units
- Golf R sales reached 273 units
- Golf GTI sales were up 13.8 percent with 1,963 units
- Golf SportWagen sales reached 628 units
- Touareg sales reached 397 units
- Tiguan sales were up 87.7 percent with 3,907 units
- Beetle Coupe sales reached 571 units
- Beetle Convertible sales reached 440 units
- Passat sales reached 2,759 units
- Jetta Sedan sales reached 11,021 units

Volkswagen Group of America has officially announced that Horst Meima has been named President and CEO of VW Credit, Inc, effective January 1, 2016. His responsibilities will include overseeing all functions of VW Credit, Inc., which is the finance company that services Volkswagen, Audi and Ducati customers.
Meima’s extensive resume includes Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of VCI, President and CEO of former Volkswagen Bank USA, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and President and CEO of VW Credit Canada, Inc.

2016 Beetle Dune To Be Released Next Year
Volkswagen fans who were also fans of off-roading back in the 60’s were sure to have loved the Baja Bug. This fantastic little car was the ultimate combination of both passions as it was a Beetle that had been modified for off-roading adventures. One such modification included off-road tires that elevated the vehicle’s body further off the ground in order to allow for the types of dirty, dusty, and rocky terrain that you will find when you travel off the beaten path.
Recently, the brand decided to offer fans a fun throwback to the days of this model with the release of the 2016 Beetle Dune. This fun new model has has been given a new body design that is 0.6 inches wider and 0.4 inched higher. Additionally, it has been equipped with a 1.8-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and features such as black wheel arch extensions, a rear diffuser, metallic golden paint scheme, a large rear spoiler 18” “Canyon” aluminum alloy wheels, and a new fascia.
The 2016 Beetle Dune will be made available sometime next year, but don’t expect to be taking it on any major off-roading adventures as the rugged design of this model was designed for look only.
