Since it’s debut, many of our customers near Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA have fallen in love with the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan, the midsize and sporty SUV that offers versatility and style. Given the success of the first-generation, Volkswagen fans have been anxious to see what is in store for the second generation.

Motor Authority finally caught a peak, capturing some photos of the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, and guess what? It has three rows! Other than that, minus longer rear doors and a different C-Pillar treatment, many things will remain the same. We can expect a turbocharged 2.0L Four-Cylinder Engine under the hood, with the possibility of a plug-in hybrid option.

That’s all we know for now, but keep up with our blog and we promise to inform you as soon as we find out additional information. Until then, stop by Fiore Volkswagen for a test drive!

The APEAL study, which stands for Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study and takes place between February and May, customers are asked to evaluate their new vehicles based on 77 different attributes. For the first time since 2001, the Volkswagen brand was ranked the highest in the non-premium nameplate category, receiving a score of 809 out of 1000.

“The J.D. Power APEAL Study is a great proof point of a brand’s appeal to new car buyers,” said Hinrich J. Last week marked the 15th year of the Annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards, with over twenty different concept vehicles competing for recognition in four categories. These concept vehicles have appeared at multiple automotive shows across North America throughout the year, and each one was evaluated by a team of 20 judges to determine the winner of each category.

Volkswagen is proud to announce that the Volkswagen BUDD-e has been named the 2016 Concept Truck of the Year! While Volkswagen is not known for making trucks, the judges acknowledged the BUDD-e for raising standards in both utility and mobility. The VW BUDD-e concept is built on the Modular Electric Toolkit, a first for the brand. Complete with a 101 kWh battery that offers an estimated range of up to 233, plus a plethora of connectivity and infotainment technology, the BUDD-e is an illustration of the future of innovation at Volkswagen.

“We are thrilled that the BUDD-e has been honored as 2016 Concept Truck of the Year and would like to thank the panel of judges for recognizing Volkswagen’s innovation,” said Dr Hendrik Muth, Director of Product Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc., accepting the award. “We are determined to lead the future of automotive design, and BUDD-e shows the capabilities of our all-new electric vehicle architecture and further advances connectivity and infotainment.”

As many of our valued customers already know, Volkswagen has been dealing with an ongoing issue regarding the emissions of its diesel-powered engines. During this process, Volkswagen has done their best to update their drivers on the status of the settlement. Recently, they’ve released the proposed settlement terms. Fiore Volkswagen would like to notify our customers so that they are aware of their options moving forward. Please keep in mind that the settlement terms are still awaiting final approval, so terms and conditions may change slightly.

If the proposed settlement is approved, Volkswagen is offering three options. If you wish to change your vehicle, they have agreed to buy back your vehicle and terminate your lease early. However, if you are interested in keeping your Volkswagen (and we hope you are), Volkswagen will modify your vehicle to improve emissions. Some of the other agreement terms including providing cash payments to owners/lessees, paying for remediation for the environment, and promoting zero-emissions technology for future Volkswagen models.

If you believe you are qualified for restitution, please visit the website below. Thank you for your understand, patience, and continued support during this time. We look forward to continuing our relationship and strengthening our partnership with our Volkswagen drivers

This money will help support the families and communities who are in need of shelter, food, animal care, construction aid, and many other aids. Volkswagen will also be matching any donations made by their employees to aid in disaster relief. As our customers from Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Johnstown, State College, and Greensburg, PA already know, the New Vehicles at Fiore Volkswagen offer the most convenient and advanced vehicle technologies, like App-Connect and Car Net. Now, Volkswagen has kicked it up a notch, by announcing a partnership with LG Electronics in order to create a “connected, cloud-based car service platform.”

Through this partnership, Volkswagen hopes to achieve three things:

  • Connecting Volkswagen Vehicles to Smart Homes: Volkswagen wants to give drivers the opportunity to monitor their homes from their vehicles. For instance, if you are on your way home from work, you can turn your lights on or adjust your thermostat from your car.
  • Messaging Made Easy: Although there are already ways to enjoy your smartphone while driving, Volkswagen and LG would like to invest in technology that would make this even safer, both in terms of driver distraction and cybersecurity.
  • Infotainment System: The companies will be building a system that supports the features mentioned above and can easily run all of the functions and features.

Keep up with our blog for more information on this exciting partnership!
